Why It Matters
Our Mission
- To promote the literary, charitable, and educational purposes of the La Vernia Library in La Vernia, Wilson County, Texas.
- To seek support through Memberships, gifts, endowments, bequests, and memorials for the benefit of the La Vernia Library.
- To encourage the active participation of volunteers, contributors, and the community.
- To highlight the La Vernia Library’s role in enhancing the literacy of the communities served by the Wilson County Texas Public Libraries.
- To stimulate the use of the La Vernia Library’s facilities, projects, resources, and services.
- To organize and hold events to raise funds for special projects not covered in the library’s operational budget.
- To focus public attention on the library as a community asset.
- To encourage gifts of materials such as books, publications, and library materials.
- To support the freedom to read as expressed in the American Library Association Bill of Rights.
